Outdoor businesses - COVID 19

This applies to us, situated outdoors where it is not possible for workers to observe social distancing guidelines at all times.

Where it is not possible to follow the social distancing guidelines in full in relation to a particular activity, you should consider whether that activity needs to continue for the business to continue to operate, and, if so, take all the mitigating actions possible to reduce the risk of transmission between staff.

If a 2 metre distance cannot be maintained, you should work side by side, or facing away from each other, rather than face to face if possible.

Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or more and more frequently than normal.

If you have to share enclosed spaces such as the cabs of vehicles, you should keep the window open for ventilation and you should be careful to avoid touching your face at all times. On leaving the enclosed space, you should wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or more or use hand sanitiser when you cannot wash your hands.

Client or customer interation is over the telephone, when interacting with customers, you should maintain a 2 metre distance as much as possible.

To protect you and the remainder of the team, you should remind your colleagues daily to only come into work if they are well and no one in their household is self-isolating.

The HSE are encouraging businesses other than those specifically instructed to close by the Government to remain open and adapt their working practices to reduce the risk of passing on the virus.
